One day of your life
Hello you! My name is Malvina, I’m 21. I want to show you how I spent January, 26th. On that day I was in Helsinki together with my boyfriend and two firiends/fellow travellers.
Put on your warm clothes because it’s going to be a lot of snow!

That day I woke up at 9 a.m. and forgot about taking a photograph right away. So I remembered about it only after I got out of the shower with my hair done and makeup on my face.

It’s me. I don’t like my face in the photograph because I always look sort of constrained.

I liked the weather I saw through my window. It was snowy and light.

I had to make plans for the day. It was our third day in Helsinki and we’d seen a lot by that time. I suggested going to a park-museum and everybody agreed.

That’s the hostel we stayed in.

We went to the kitchen to have breakfast. It is common but has everything you may possibly need.

Our breakfast was simple and nourishing.

Those are my friends.

It was 11 a.m. and we had to hurry up!

But someone was too lazy to get up!

Finally, we left and locked the door behind us.

There is a reception on the main floor of the hostel and people working there are so nice and friendly!

A girl from the reception showed us a map and explained to us how to get to the park-museum fast. The red mark is where we were and the green one was our destination.

This is our hostel. It is situated inside a stadium building which is strange…

There is a beautiful park full of snow next to the stadium.

We went to the bus stop on foot.

At the bus stop.

We were standing there waiting for our bus for over 20 minutes and our optimism was fading away. When we finally saw the bus coming up, we realized that it was not going to stop to pick us up and passed by. What’s wrong with this country?
We had no choice but to go on foot. It took us about 10 minutes which was much faster than we expected.

I love how they decorate their houses in Finland!

Almost there.

Can you see what time it is on this cellphone?

Entering the park!

In this park, you can see samples of the architecture of the 17th -19th centuries but we came there just to enjoy its nature so we didn’t really read what was written on those information boards.

The weather was beautiful and the park was almost empty. We met just those two ladies wearing their sports suits.

I could have posted a million of photographs I took in the park but I don’t want my report to look like a guide-book.

It was 2.13 p.m. and we had to go back into the city.

Luckily, the bus didn’t ignore us so we headed to downtown in comfort.

We are in downtown Helsinki.

Walking in the fresh air made us hungry so we rushed to a Subway to eat sandwiches. Actially, I had a sandwich overdose in Finland because I’d never eaten that many sandwiches within just four days.

Out next destination was a natural-scientific museum. We entered it for free!

I liked it very much because – shame on me – I’ve never been to the paleontologic museum in Moscow.

By the way, the museum was full of either pupils or students with some sort of crosswords or something in their hands.

We left the museum at around 5 and it was dark.

After that, the girls returned to the hostel and my boyfriend and me decided to go have a cup of coffee.

We also went shopping in a local mall.

We ran out of money and went to the hostel too.

We had a bite and went to the hall to hang out for a while. A group of Poles who lived next to us joined us later. They were really funny and talkative.

It was 2.15 when we went to bed. But it doesn’t matter. It was fun and that was what we went there for – to see new places, meet new people and learn what we didn’t know before.
